Respecting Personal Decisions

As societal values and norms evolve, an increasing number of individuals are choosing to express their true selves. However, it is important to recognize that not everyone feels comfortable revealing their sexuality or gender identity, especially within professional settings. How can we foster workplaces that are truly inclusive and embrace the diverse experiences of our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, irrespective of their decision to disclose their personal lives?

Microlesson Description

This microlesson aims to inform your workforce on why some employees may be reluctant to come out to their coworkers. Coming out as LGBTQIA+ is a deeply personal matter, and should always be left up to the individual coming out. Coming Out at Work contains a video scene involving two gay coworkers pressuring another coworker to come out, providing an example of a potential harassment situation with follow up dialogue on the impact that might have. We also provide tips on how to make your workplace more LGBTQIA+ inclusive.
