Managers always want to do the right thing to protect their employees. Responding to potential harassment or conflict issues can be tricky. Sometimes it's hard when managers get stuck between protecting an employee from harassment and keeping the business moving forward. While removing the employee from a negative situation is intended to protect them, it can potentially hurt the employee and business in other ways.

Microlesson Description

In this microlesson, we demonstrate when managers learn that an employee is being harassed, their first instinct is to get that employee out of the situation. While that's critical, a manager's thoughts and actions can't stop there. A remedy needs to be found that won't disadvantage the victim of inappropriate conduct. This lesson helps managers think through the unintended consequences before they make a decision.
